Default 89 Ford Thunderbird Supercoupe help.. headgasket?

A friend of mine got this car from his uncle for free. He was told that it had a blown headgasket. He said he was driving down the road and heard a pop... then when he went to investigate, he found coolant coming out of the exhaust. Well after my friend started to take a few things off to fix it he realised there was way more there then what he wanted to take off. So he offered it to me for 100 bucks. Im thinking about picking it up. But I have never heard of coolant coming out of the exhaust before. Does that sound like a head gasket. And does this sound like a good deal?

If these cars are in great condition and well taken care of, they can be fast and fun.

That being said, the 3.8 ford motor is one of the worst ever produced.

Ever.
