88 crx not starting
Ok, I just got this car from a buddy of mine, but it wont start. you turn the key and it turns over but wont start. I check the fuel filter and its still getting fuel. But Im not real sure where to go from there. can someone help me? Thanks
Any modified wiring, etc? Rarely do you see a CRX that someone hasn't absolutely butchered the wiring. Anyway, are you getting a check engine light? Besides the obvious things, such as missing wires, etc., you may have a bad distributor or coil.
Nevermind about the coil, I didn't notice that you had spark too..

Smokeless EF: I dont even see a check engine light in the dash??
Fabrik8: Oh yeah there is some hacked wires.. Someone cut the wires on 2 of the injectors and taped them back up. One of them actually has the wires cut from the top and tucked under the injector..
I did some research and everywhere it says that there are 3 grounds. 1. Valve cover to body, 2. Battery to Transmission, 3. Thermostat to ??somewhere?? cant remember. But supposedly if one of the grounds are not connected the car will not start. Now I have tried looking for the ground on the thermostat housing and for the life of me I do not see one. I would try grounding it but I dont know where the ground goes?

Ok its not the injectors or the fuel because we tried spraying some starting fluid in the throttle body and its still not starting.
PS, I made a boo boo. Its not an 88 its an 87, I dont know if that makes a difference.
