40 - 50 mpg question

He said long light...a 3 minute light at idle is going to use way more gas than if you cut the car off and restarted it.

But just as been stated before. A decent filter (K&N drop in or some type of CAI/RAI), shifting at ~2000 rpm, minimal acceleration from stops, not going over 55-60, and even a tune for gas milage will do wonders.

+1 also. slowing to a yellow rather than romping the throttle throught it is supposed to help a lot.

do a civic hybrid swap. then I'm sure that you will see that kind of gas milage.

get a 96-00 hx. Done. Just dont get the auto, the tranny is worth more than the car.

Get the dumb longest gears possible. My b16 gets over 40 mpg with an ls tranny.

Lol every civic in japan doesn't have a b series in it. The engine he has is a d16a and from what I can gather is identical to a d16z6.

There are things you can do to the head to increase VE. Also boosting it, but never running past 0 lbs boost is also supposed to increase VE drastically. i can drum up some articles if you wish.
