I just bought the car on Sunday with the sr20 in it already. car turns on and what not, but doesnt move. Dude i bought it from told me that it was the clutch that was out. Well i figure before i tear it down to ask people if it could possibly be something else. You can shift the car into gear without even pushing down on the clutch pedal, so i figure it just might be the clutch. But he also told me that he just put the clutch in 8 months ago, and he said it was a stage 3 clutch. I have never heard a stage 3 go out in 8 months...... But i am a Civic guy and this is my first 240. So if someone can help me out, or possibly come check it out one day after work i would be very greatful. I live in Newport News as well. And if it is the clutch that is bad what type of clutch should i look for like out of what USDM vehicle.

not necessarilly the cluthc when i broke my differential my tranny did that too

 

good call. i didnt even think of that.

 

but that's fwd. this is rwd. If he broke his differential (which I haven't heard of a lot on 240's), then he would still have to use the clutch to put it in gear. and the clutch is specific for your car, rwd sr20. I got mine from www.jgycustoms.com

 

broken diff doesn't matter in RWD, just like Carter said..

 

If his differential was broken on a RWD.. He would hear the driveshaft spin atleast?

 

thats what we looked for tonight. he had it in gear and the drive shaft wasnt even spinning. could it be his master cylinder for the clutch???
