Never heard of forged pistons knocking because they're "forged."

Most cases forged pistons do make a little noise at idle. It does sound like a knock but it is just the pistons. I know that the race car and the street car sound that way.

forged pistons always make noise on a cold start but make sure its the bottom end and not a loose piece of piping for the exhaust or a heat shield
