Default 1st gen crx motor swaps...

Does anyone have any info on how difficult it is to do a motor swap on the 1st gen crx. It is also carbureated. Anyone know how to make it fuel injected, and what all i would need to get from a injected crx. I am pretty sure i will need the gauge cluster cause it has a speed sensor and can i just grab the entire harness and manifold and swap it over?

ive seen b series swaps go in. i even think there are aftermarket mounts made. the 1g is lighter than the 2g, so i guess it might be worth it. IMO they are ass ugly though

the outside didn't bother me so much as the inside. guages and controls and such. still see alot of them on the road though. more than you can say about a Fiero.

I would have to rate the Fiero the biggest pos I ever came across. Terrible electrical system, yes indeed they caught on fire quite a bit.

heh...u guys dont know about the fieros we had =]

noreverseteg got a look at them...they arent a pos with a v8 in them. =]

actually they still are pos and yes they catch on fire...plus most of the car being plastic...oh well there is a reason why they stopped production after 88...because they are death traps

swapping in a ZC or B-series motor is pretty easy... for the ZC, you can get a "brown top", which has the correct mounts. HASport makes a mount kit to drop in B-series motors.. your big problem is the fuel system. Since your car is carbed, the whole fuel system will need to be replaced. Tank, lines, pump, etc... Coolest first gen I ever saw was a DX running a ZC motor with dual carbs... that's what I'd do...
