Alright guys if you dare to take a stab at it.
1993 eg sohc turbo. 337whp. Timing is dead on.

These are my issues.
I have a problem overheating when slowing to a stop.
If I get on it twice in a row then come to a stop it will overheat. I have yet to let it get passed 225ish.
I have the fan on a switch so I know it's not that.
I have a brand new factory radiator.
Fresh head gasket/ head studs. Cometic/arp
I have no thermostat issues.
New hoses.

Is there any coolant in the radiator when it overheats?

How do you know you don't have any thermostat issues? You're obviously not getting enough coolant flow to the radiator for some reason when you're going slow (or are stopped), but you're getting enough flow to properly cool when you've got a lot of air through the radiator.

The thermostat is in the car. I hve gutted the center there is just the plate as a restriction.

If I pop the radiator cap and poor the overflow in it's fine. I'm not loosing any coolant it just goes into the overflow.

So coolant is going to the overflow, but when you open the rad cap there is enough empty space that you can pour the overflow tank contents into the radiator? That sounds like you have an air leak or something like that, and it's possible that you aren't building proper cooling system pressure (I'm not sure if I can justify that one in my head though). Regardless, you're obviously not cooling properly unless there is a LOT of airflow through the radiator core, so think about what that might say.

Open the bleeder valve to purge out the air, are you sure there is no air in the system?

I have used a burp funnel on my car for over an hr to burp allllll the air out.. theres no air when i do that... the coolant i am loosing out of the radiator goes into the overflow.. the temperature drops dramatically when i pop the cap and fill in the radiator with the overflow residual..THere is no leak otherwise id be loosing coolant..

BTW.. I have done a pressure test on the cap and the coolant system also i have done a compression test and a cylinder leak down test and alllllll test passed...


Also thought about upgrading to an ither 2 core or a 3 core radiator.. I am currently using a single core factory radiator (brand new)

Also when i used the burb funnel last night and gave it throttle it was sucking the lower radiator hose till it was flat. fixed that issue with a new hose but I am pretty sure it still sucks it in a little bit. not sure what would cause this..

one issue i have seen with turbo d's is head lift. this can put hot air in your coolant.

under no load you will not have an issue. it will only happen under load.

i would also suggest a radiator upgrade with making that hp. even a dual core del sol or 99 si radiator will work more efficiently

Yah ive heard... I reallly hooppee an aluminum radiator helps... its kinda frustrating and im kinda tired of playing with it..

WHat is more wise an aluminum 2 core or is a 3 core my best bet? i really am not trying to keep using 150-500 dollar guesses when it comes to this but i guess eliminating all possiblilites is the only way to go...
