My wife's Fit S had a problem this morning with the power steering.
The car was idling waiting to warm up and when she backed up out of the parking lot, the power steering light came on. The car had no power steering at all and was not driveable. Turned it off and started back up and it was fine.

Anybody else here with this problem?

I would guess it's the EPS control. I will take it to the dealer but since it's not on all the time and only happens every now and then (so far), I'm afraid they're going to blow me off unless it's something they've seen before.

 

huh never experienced or heard of that before. If it happens again only thing to do is to take it to the dealer.

 

is this a morning/cold start thing? if so park near the dealership and in the morning be like "yo, start this bish up" and let them see it.

too bad its so intermittent.

 

If the light has come on there will still be a code stored even if the light isn't on the code will still be stored as a history code and can only be view from the honda diagnostic tool. I have seen this on a few hybrid civics having the same problem but usually it's just a glitch or intermitten failure of the eps system. Most likey u just had a intermitten failure 99.9% of the time.
