Default DMV titling and bill of sale

I bought a car for a very good deal. It is about a thousand dollars less than kbb price. I got the title and a bill of sale. DMV says that they needed to see the bill of sale, so I gave it to them but they says that the bill of sale is a copy not an original (which it is but i thought it didnt matter). She actually needed a bill of sale with the original wet signature. My question is if the price is already on the title, shouldn't that be enough?!?! If so, I'm gonna see her supervisor tomorrow.

Well we both got screwed because it clearly states here that the price on the title is the same as bill of sale...

Anyone else experienced this or know if they need to see the bill of sale even though you show them the title?

i walked in to dmv with my title and a bill of sale and didnt have any price put on the title at all and wrote it up as what the car booked out for which is what i payed. so i guess it matters who you get at the window and what mood they are in.

Its SOP here to ask for the BOS. However, thats when its obviously much lower than it "should" be. Couple things though, the copy SHOULD be good enough and noway I would let them keep the original reguardless. Another is with the economy in the dumps, the state will do whatever/however to put cash in there pockets. Id ask to speak to the supervisor. Why do you not have the BOS anyway?

make sure to get the BOS notorized so they can't say its fake or some bs. They need to know the price of the car so they can charge the correct amount of tax.
