I konw the ideal time to paint wheels would be atleast spring or during the hot summer.

It's unfortunate that my Aspec wheels are bold at this point of time.

Ive already gone to sand down my RSX wheels, tomrrow morning when sun rise i think it be an ideal time to start painting my wheels black.


Any input would happily appreciated.

use thin light coats...otherwise it will run its ass off..and if its a dark color it will have a tendencie to blush really bad

If you can do it in a garage or somewhere with a space heater, it'll be much better.

Let the wheels come up to temperature and stay there for a while before painting. You don't want to be painting over condensation, or have condensation form under the drying paint film. Cold metal makes the volatiles in the paint flash off really slow too, so drying time is loooong.

 

I just wanted to get back and lt yall konw that, it came out very very very very nice. deep gloss looks prfoessional, i used 3 paint cans


MANY MANY MANY coats, i didnt use primer, just sand it down. I RECOMMMEND if sanding, doesnt have to be deep but just light sanding. im going to bring the wheels inside for it to cure over night.

If cold outside dont bring wheels inside. big mistake, but mistake fixed
I used clearcoat. I fucked up baddly, when after Finishing and brought them inside the cribe, big mistake. it condense. so i had to re paint them again. I had second thoughts on clearcoat but i say screw it and spray it again when i saw the end result of it the first time.

heres a short short recommendation, that Most threads fail to tell everyone else.

If you want to use clear coat well for the duplicolor that is. when spraying, spray till its noticebally wet. The same thing i did when i had to spray the last few sprays of paint. so itll come out smooth looking.

you dont really need primer, just light sand. spray many many many many light coats of paint. leave them on the ground face up always . so if itll drip itll drip evenly towards back of the wheel.

You really should have used primer. Proper adhesion to the metal is important.
