My 94 Teg LS has been sitting in front of my garage for little over a year now, and I got a new battery and try to crank the car with new gas in the tank and fresh oil... While I was cranking, the car almost started.. But suddenly, the rpm started to jerk up and down while cranking and when I press the gas the engine chokes. If I let the gas pedal go the car cranks again with rpm rapidly moving up and down... Can someone tell me what the hell this is about.

but I drained old gas out and installed new fuel filter before I start cranking it.

 

try different gas from a different place and new fuel filter

 

I refilled the gas up again and new filter put on again. And, still it doesn't work. Same symptom... I'm thinking my distributor or cam angle sensor is bad... Any thoughts.

 

did you change your sparkplugs?

 

I installed new NGK's prior to startup... I checked the resistor reading on the distributor coil.. And, it seems like the ohms are little low.. So, I'm going to change the ignition to stock and see if this will work.
