whats up yall im trying to swap out the motor of my girls 01 pontiac sunfire,its a 2.2 right now and was wondering what kind of wiring and other mods would i need to put in a 2.4 out of the same year...any info would help thanks

 

you need the wire harness if your motor mounts work dont need to change but if you cant need to find some that will and for the swap you need to have motor tranny ecu axels and warness to make it all work and maybe need the radiator if they are different

 

does any of the 2.2 parts work with the 2.4?(tranny,axels,and mounts mainly)the 2.2 is still in the car and running but has blowby really bad and no need messin with the 2.2 if i can drop the 2.4 in

 

Why go to all that trouble? Why not just put another 2.2 in? Even if you do get the 2.4 in it, it's still just a Sunfire.

 

its not worth the trouble. nothings interchangable. 2.4s are junk anyways

 

It would probably be easier, and more practical to dump her and pick up a girlfriend with a better motor.

Swap in a better engine, like one of the Cobalt SS engines. If you're going to go through all of the trouble of a swap in a Sunfire (!?) you might as well swap something worthwhile into it. Going from a stock 2.2 to a stock 2.4 isn't buying you much of anything, and they're both garbage from what I understand.
