you will have valve clearance issuse with those pistons.

CLAY THE MOTOR!!!!

that is, if you want to save it.

I'll play idiot...
Please explain - B16 has less piston to deck clearance. .020. They have the same compression height. And the GSR in stock form should have less valve lift than a B16B....
Why does this create an issue.

Nope, I'm not being a smart-ass. I want to know what I'm missing here.....

one of my buddies is doing the same thing right now.

the dome on CTR pistons are incredible. he will have valve clearance problems unless he uses a custom HG.

block?
stock b16 head?
crank?

needed info?

Block should not matter - Deck Height does. The Piston-to-Deck clearance on a B16 is .020", and .030" on a B18 series. So the piston has .010 extra clearance to the valves on a B18.

Where this is offset, is when you look at the compression height - The CH of a stock piston is 1.183 for a GSR, and 1.210 for a PCT.

So, then, what's the difference in lift between the CTR cams, and the GSR cams... If it's .0170 or more, and the GSR cam has less lift, then it should work fine and have stock clearance.
If you're running aftermarket cams, which have much higher lifts and durations, then maybe not!

Why not just use some ITR or P30(b16a) pistons?

All that compression and you can't even run a decent cam in it.

I'm sorry but your wasting your time.

dude ur fine with the gsr motor with pct pistons like the guy above said his caculations are all correct i personally have seen the set-up on H-T good luck and enjoy but please get it tuned with such a dramatic increase in compression, have fun
