Anyone know about installing a kill swicth for the antenna? I'm sick of looking like an RC car when I don't even listen to the radio!

 

There is a remote turn on wire that the radio controls, you just need to put a switch on that. Easy.
If your radio is installed properly, the antenna should go down when the radio is off, and many radios will put the antenna down when you switch to CD.

 

It does go down when the radio is powered off, but remains up when the CD is playing. Annoying because of the size of the damn antenna!

 

Ok, find the antenna enable wire in the radio harness and put a switch on it.

 

this looks similar to the antenna i got for my car. i got tired of the long antenna too. bought one like this and it looks alot better.

 

mine makes a really bad sound when it comes up its annoying
