Default overheating issue

Ok I have a 93 civic coupe 1.5. My car was overheating for a while and I replaced the thermostat well it helped none. The coolant is going back in to the overflow and all you hear is bubbling. I replaced the radiator cap yesterday drove it like 15 miles some on 95 doing 70mph and all the car never overheated and I have been flushing the radiator today and been driving it to try and get it hot. Do you think the cap solved it or am I just not driving enough. Also it is cooler out now than when it first started this overheating issue

I've never heard of a water pump pressurizing the system.

That is caused by pressure getting in the coolant. There isn't pressure in a water pump.

i don't know but my friend car just did that, you would turn off the car and the overflow would bubble after the car was turned off or on, and it over heated, and we replaced it and his car went back to normal.

and the guy's problem sounds like the same, so it was just a suggestion since it worked for us

On my civic, my fan switch stopped working so the cooling fan never came on. I just put a jumper wire on the plug that went to the fan switch to keep it on constantly and never had any problems after that.

the top can go bad on a rad. it has a certain pressure that will push the spring up on the inside of the top to bleed small amounts of pressure off
