89 Honda Civic EX Go-Fast Parts??

a close friend of mine has a 89 Honda Civic EX 5speed 4 door..It's got great top end but no take off.He installed a cat-back system and gutted the converter.The engine is a D16??something.Any help would be appriciated..

d16a6 or a1 would be my guess. do a mini-me swap...stick a y8 or a z6 head with a y8 head gasket and you'll have extreme compression 11:1+

or just get a swap.

mini-me is nothing but trouble... go turbo, get new pistons, rods and a new throttle body and intake manny, and boost..
