Default EK4 sir cluster into 97 dx?

Will this be a direct bolt in as well as other models? I had it in my 99 ex and everything worked fine. I tried to install in a 97 dx today and the tach would not work??? Do I have a broken cluster?

that's what i thought as well since i had it working 100% in my 99 ex but does it make a difference on a dx civic(no tach)? there was a plug that i couldn't plug in because the sir cluster only has two places for the plugs? I didn't plug in the third one on my ex and everything worked fine but when i try to install it into a 97 dx today, the tach wouldn't work! should i take apart the cluster (which i have done before on a si cluster) and try to find a replacement tach? i don't know where i could find a replacement tach for the sir since it was not manufactured here in the states, so maybe a crv tach would work?
