Cheap trackday for charity, combine with your VIR AMA weekend
It was nice to meet you guys too. Thanks for encouraging your friend to help us load the bikes. G'money was pretty sore from the accident this morning. I felt really comfortable on the track I wish I could spend all day there. by the last two sessions out I was bumping my knee on 2,6,7 and felt in complete control of the bike. It is true what they say that you learn more in one track day then you do ever. I completely recommend going to the track to anyone well worth the cost of preparation. It was so fun watching everyone else on the track though. I liked being behind experienced riders so I could watch their technique. Getting lessons from the Pro-motion guys too certainly helped.
Yes. One of the joys of dragging hard parts a little too much or going a bit too fast for my skill set.
I was at the apex of turn 6 on the South course, dragging pegs like a bitch, and lifted the rear tire off the track, therefore sending me into a nice low side. I wound up landing in some mud and hit my head pretty good on the ground. The 500 was alright other than a dented gas tank, a bent handle bar, and a shaved down kick stand.
I rode back to the paddocks, cleaned up the bike, received some more instruction on body position, and was back on the track for the next heat.
All in all, it was a positive experience with a lot of things to work on before the next track day. I would definitely recommend doing a track day with riding lessons for first timers. Props to the folks at Pro-Motion.
