Sure, and if you have a empty cone in your hand then you must be an ice cream manufacturer...

I can tell by alot of the comments that you guys hav'nt been to trafic court recently. And no the judges don't have any neurons firing at all especially in Fairfax county. I got 2 illegal exhaust tickets in one month! I even told the second cop I already had a ticket for it, and told him according to the VA code it was not illegal (here's a tip never quote the law to a cop) he said it was and I told him I have a copy of it in the back of my car and I could show it to him. Then he got really pissed and they searched around my whole car trying to find something wrong and when they did'nt he just wrote me another exhaust ticket! I went to court with pics and documents that mr OBX exhaust was made for my car only and not a universal fart can peice of crap. But according to the judge if you own a Honda you must go to Honda dealer to get your muffler. I all so noticed that if you don't have a lawyer with you the judge won't listen to a thing you say. So pretty much if you drive through Fairfax and your muffler is shiney you will get a ticket! Since I worked up there and had to drive up there I got a Flowmaster because it's flat black and looks just like stock. Fairfax is real bad on any import cars, dos'nt matter whose drivining it! And for the record I'm 40yrs old married, 4 kids and a grandson but I drive a 91 Honda CRX SI with Konig Freefall wheels and Yokohama tires. But all the cops see is a street racer!
My advice is if it's in Fairfax it's not worth going to court. You will be just be wasting your time and the 2 tickets are not enough to go and get a lawyer for. If a 40yrs old family man with a folder full of documentation can't get out of it, you probally won't either. And if you are under 30 all he is going to see is a street racer! And if you try to use the "data logging" defense to him you will just be proving to him your a street racer!
apparently you don't understand the exhaust laws. your OBX exhaust IS in violation of the law. The cop is correct. And a hoosier QTP is not even close to a yokohama.. haha... This car is not a commuter car.. I have a daily driver for crap like that.. this car is jsut for cruising around on weekends.

The main thing that bothers me about the situation, is that, the officer basicly issued me an invalid ticket and is a liar. yes, i have a feeling he can still get me no matter what defense I use based on the "similar device" thing, BUT the fact is that he was riding my ass so there's no way he could see if I was using it or not while driving. When he stopped me, he asked what it was, I told him it was a diagnostic too. He asked If i used it while driving, and I told him NO, that it is not used while driving, it is used to pull up collected data after I park, and I was parked, in a parking lot, at the time (obviously, since I was recieving a ticket). So at the time he walked up to my window and saw it, there was nothing illegal about having it there. I told him I had just went to check things while I was parked. He made me shut it off, even though I was parked, and gave me a ticket for it anyways, even after I had told him I wasn't using it while driving. To me, this makes him a liar. Now, the exhaust ticket, I'll admit, my shit's illegal, I can't complain about that one. what bothers me is that officer fucktard is going to go to court and most likely lie his ass off to convict me. He's already shown his dishonesty by issuing me a ticket with no proof.

this was on route 3 in Fredericksburg by the salem church road intersection by the way.. I was on my way to meet up with a friend and officer fucktard followed me from the time I entered spotsylvania, right on my damned bumper, until I tried to park the car to get him away from me. I was just minding my own business cruising at the speed limit

I always make sure to keep the laptop screen closed while tuning if a cop is around.

Do youself a favor and sit in court and observe what happens in there. The cops interprate the laws when they write tickets, and it sucks. I fthe judge needs back up, he has iit in the cop at court. And someone on here was correct, the judge don't want to hear anything from you, but you get a lawyer and then they will talk. I went to traffic court with my daughter a few weeks ago and it was an eye opener. Just go for a little while and you will get insight on what you may need to do or say.

Why would a $75 ticket be worth the expense of a lawyer?

It's not.. haha..

I'm going to court anyways to get out of my exhaust ticket (don't argue with that one, I have a way of doing it, done it before) and since i'll be there already I really want to fight this.. I think with the defense I've posted so far, it should be dropped..

anyone in here have a lot of experience in traffic court? i'd like to talk to you to find out how it works, I haven't been in years and forget the order of things
