Cycle whore thread
No no no no no. Your bike needs back pressure to run correctly. Totally lacking exhaust means zero back pressure. Same as putting a 3.5'' exhaust on a stock civic, it's actually not doing anything at all. If no exhaust makes you faster was the case, then everyone would do it.
Please don't argue back if you don't know what you're talking about. His bike was not modded at all, it was actually missing parts.
And I never was about racing with you guys, I was down for watching and laughing. I'm not down for RACING through the turns on the street either. If you want that then track it. I'm not going off into a ditch because some idiot can't ride.

Yea... because the stock manifold and the mid pip from the engine wouldn't add any back pressure at all...
That is like saying that cutting the exhaust in half on a Civic is gonna make it slower? Ummm no... it wouldn't... it would infact add power.. you cant remove the header and expect to add power as much power.. but in fact it would...
Yes.. your engine needs back pressure.. but it needs a MINIMAL amount of positive back pressure... its crazy to see that drag bikes dont have full exhaust systems I know you are smarter than everybody, but try to understand that these professional drag racers probably know a little more than you do.
The fact is that his stock header and mid pipe is not large enough to eliminate all back pressure... so he would have enough to efficently run the bike and increase power by not having a stock muffler.
Less back pressure would increase top end power, which would be exactly the type of race that would occur in a rolling second gear run.
This is a quick search that i pulled up.. if you want to see more discussions on the subject... i can pull up some more for you. In fact.. I imagine if you pulled up some forums.. you could find that people increased power by removing the muffler and just running the stock header and mid pipe.

Maybe not to you but I wouldn't want a 4 year old tire on my bike. Temperature and humidity have an affect on how quickly the tire out-gases but it will still out-gas even when it's stored properly.
