I really dont expect to be competitive in any glass right now, but I might sign up for ESP just to see how it goes. If someone makes a stink oh well, but I dont think I'll be in any contingency to win anything so it probably wont happen.
Don't sweat it. While I'd never perpetuate cheating, I don't think a novice (where you should place yourself-ESPN) would be that much of a threat. I was the SCCA-ODR chariman for 10+ years and I would have no problem with you being in ESP for now. If you want to, hook up with us at the next NASA event at Langley Speedway (November) and we'll put ya in ESP-N.

Also, Pungo would be a great first event. Lower speeds and it'll teach you the basics. Plus, Greg and co. do a nice job with what they have to work with at Pungo. You'll have a blast!

I doubt I'll do better than anyone, but if I do, I'll file the complaint myself haha

that is why nobody protested on my CSP MR2 which is considered a DP with the mods I have - but right now I am downgrading the car since I am getting a little faster - to be legal in CSP

They ain't really gonna charge for a protest. In fact filing a protest is more of a pain in the ass than anything else. Not to mention it's a great way to piss someone off! AND you can bet you'll get protested at the next event for something really stupid. Then it becomes a "I'll get you" kinda thing. It really ain't worth it. If I, as an event organizer, have someone come to me and say someone is illegal, I'll say something. But the protest thing just gets ugly. There are some people that honestly don't know something puts them in another class. Then, there are people that know they're blatantly wrong and just cheat. I hate a cheater!

The vehicle should be able to pass a current state inspection. The tech folks will be looking for things like fluid leaks, battery secured, all lugnuts present, tires in good condition, and everything out of the car that could fly around.

You need to be 16 years old w/ valid license to participate. You should definetly give this a try. Speeds are generally lower than 60 mph at Pungo, so it's safe too.
