Which solenoid are you using? In my experience I prefer to use an mbc or ebc instead of the factory solenoid and ecu...however I notice the suby guys usually just use a better solenoid and retain the stock ecu boost control.

This is where I would start.

btw, what shop on brambleton?
Stock solenoid - we took it off last night and tested it. It opens and closes fine, so its not malfunctioning to our knowledge. Unless of course the computer is not telling it what to do properly.

I'll talk to my mechanic and see if we can do a leak down test today or early next week.

The shop is called "general imports" - If any of you guys think you could be of some assistance then by all means let me know!! We need someone in there that knows a bit about these things, cause im fairly new to some of this stuff.

Thanks for the help guys,
Micah

I gotcha,

I ended up boarding, im pretty sore haha. I think I'll stick with skiing.

I'm pretty busy this semester because of one particular class (Business Policy), but I will atleast get a basemap for you so you can drive the car, just don't go around full throttle.

You do have a wideband to keep an eye on things right?

what amount of pressure are you thinking about running? stock block?

No wideband, that why im looking for someone to street tune me. Im looking to boost around 20psi. forged internals 8.8:1cr. How much would you charge me & we could you do it?

Nice, what turbo?

I already have a few basemaps I'm gonna peak around in, 880cc's are gonna be a bit more tricky for a few reasons

-have to dial in injector battery offset (many have pulled this off of AEM's software presets, should be a good ballpark/starting point)
-have to dial in startup enrichment
-have to dial in IAT and ECT enrichment

Hopefully these basemaps already have some tuning done in that area.

You really need to get a wideband imo atleast for day to day monitoring.

I'm busy all week usually and next weekend I am gonna be out of town, so I don't know how soon you need it done though, I'll try to get you the basemap and richen the holy hell out of it in boost, but this is my disclaimer if you decide to turn the boost up to 20psi on the basemap and destroy your ringlands, I'm not responsible!

quick check is to throw a known good MBC on it to verify the operation of the wastegate and such. five dollars to a fat mans ass you have a solenoid that cannot bleed off enough pressure fast enough on the boost reference line using the stock solenoid and its causing low boost.

eh fuck it. who needs a boost controller anyway? that turbo is good to 25psi...run that fucker at wide open boost. wastegates are for pussies.

good luck getting that big of an injector to cooperate for you and having a nice idle, or even having decent streetability on part throttle driving for that matter. running the lowest on time you can with that kind of injector will cause some shitty spray patterns, unless you can run it with a rising rate FPR also.

then again, most people dont really mind having a hunting idle or rich part throttle driving not in the boost.

It shouldn't be a problem, many have had decent results. Granted, it's never going to be like stock, but perfectly fine.

There are a few on pgmfi that are battling 1600cc injectors, now that could be a problem.

I run 1000cc's and they idle perfect and gets great part throttle fueling. But then again my fpr is a 1:1 too though...

942drsleeper,

what type/brand of injectors do you have? what turbo?

Thats the only thing left I really need before I can send you the BASEMAP..

Also, when do you want VTEC to activate? I have it at 5000 right now, what rev limit?

Do you want 2 step and what rpm?
