however, it is a known fact, although some of the hardcore ricers will deny it, there IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT!

i think it was back in the sixtys F1 cars were running 1000hp 4 cyl turbos. (yes i know they're not street cars, but i'm just saying, that's still quite a feat). and of course, there are still the skylines pushing over 1000hp across the seas. we might see some of those type cars over here if kits, wings, and stickers weren't so expensive, hehe

those f1 cars ran 70% tolouene/ 30% n-heptane fuel mix and 70PSI on big F'n turbos. that's a bit on the not cost efficient side

the turbo engines made their first appearance in the 1977 seson. ill save you the history and deatails but the 1000+ hp, 1.5L, 4cylinder engines came to their demise when NA engines were mandated for the 1989 season.

i think that youre thinking of the engines currently in use in formula one. they are 3L v-10's. the one you are thinking about that was near 20k rpm is the williams bmw from last year. at qualifying for the monza race last season, juan montoya reved his p82 engine to 19,250 (i think) and set the fastest qualifying lap in the history of formula one. that engine made around 900hp but was horribly unreliable.

haha, but wouldn't it be great to pull up a stop light in an F1 car next to some rice hell, if one pulled up next to me, i'd race it, just to say that i did, lol.

yeah, i seen a show on speed vision a while back. i couldn't remember exactly when they came out though. it seems you keep up w/ F1 quite a bit, what do you think of the "no computer assistance" rule now?

Get your numbers straight before you start comparing things
thats what im talking about....
I raced a mustang GT last week and beat him 2/3 times....
By the way the 98-02 LS1's run easily 13's.. I have two buddys with LS1's and they both ran close to the same times. Both ran a 13.3 at richmond and we still believe the clock was off....
SO they could have prolly ran faster...
