imports vs. v8 cars
before this thread even starts, i just want to say that im into bith cars, and have a whole lot of love for the tuner in general what ever your tuning..... but
why is it that everytime i see a post on here where an import kills a stang or "slomaro", (just playing) its always a good modified car vs. a mostly stock v8 car? i mean they make a big huge deal out of slaying a v8.a stock stang runs roughly a 14.7 in stock trim, and camaros run 14.2 roughly in stock trim.(z28).i mean, nowadays if your car cant run that fast, you dont need to be racing it. i mean last night a friend of mine beat a 5.0 lx car that had a 3.73 gear and complete off roar exhaust, cam and upper and lower intake manifolds. he has a 91 hatch with a b16 swap. now thats a good race i think. the stang has a litlle performance to it and he has a swap . i guess im just saying that dont brag about beating a stock v8 car, 14.6 isnt fast nowadays. race somthing that hasa a little power

i agree. unfortunatley it goes full circle tho. you see alot of v8 guys talking about stomping every civic they see with altezzas and a tip. its really silly. people get too worked up over everything. its not fun for alot of people anymore.

its all about price paid for the speed you run...
you can spend about 30,000 (thats a rough estimate from one of my friends that has a nice Z28) on an ls1 camaro, or SS...or you can spend about 20,000 on a little rice burner that has some power adders that runs just as fast.
see the point im making here?
my car cost me 16000 brand new. ive spent maybe 5000 in aftermarket stuff for my car. i ran a 14.7 at 99 mph at 5 psi.

now, another one of my friends has me beat even worse, he got his car for 800, spend about 3000 on an engine swap, and his car is every bit as fast as mine if not faster...
what can i say? h22 hatchbacks are beasts.
