can you manually pull/add timing with the CAS or does it have to be done through a timing box or ecu? a while back someone asked me about timing on the SR and i had no clue what to say

just like a distributor, on the CAS you can advance or retard the timing map in the ecu.

Now you're just nit picking

If the tension is loose in the chain it doesn't matter where the sensor is, timing will be off since the valves aren't opening when they should be. There is basically no difference in having the sensor tied to the crank or to the cams. If you're going to use the argument of "what if X is not working properly" first off something is BROKE and second they both won't be working

I'd rather have an optical instead of hall effect sensor anyway. Less possible sources of interference
