2) Will your first purchase be a new BOV?
3) Will you rev your engine while stop of cruising by slowly blowing off at people?
4) Will you install neons or anything that is considered "Rice?"
If you answer yes to any of those questions please step away from the evo and never get near one again.

If you want a more comfortable daily driver go with the STi it has better overall fit and finish (the interior for instance) and the extra displacement makes for better city driving. But if you're more performance oriented and love going to the track, I'd recommend the Evo. A stock turbo Evo 8 can safely get you to 350whp (more or less depending on the dyno) with alcohol injection.
i had a EVO 9 MR. it was decent. kinda heavy.. but handled well and good low end power. I didnt like was the tranny and mounts..there trannys take a dump quick. most need to be rebuilt by 40k..the mounts are too solid, its like your in a build honda. always viberating everything and chattering hard off the line. everything else was pretty bullet proof. my ran 1.3 bars most of the time. But after riding in my friends STI. i think i wouldve gone with that. it was just a totally different feel to the car than the Evo, plus i liked the interior better.

IMO the Subaru sounds better (Arguable)
EVO takes to mods very well (Not Arguable)
STI takes to mods well also, but the parts are a little more expensive (which one could argue that the money saved on the EVO mods would just go right into the EVO tranny when it breaks....which it will).

Um, that's one thing I'm not a huge fan of. I do like the way they sound with an equal length header, though.
