What are you talking about! the gear is not connected to the oil pump! So you still retain the LS gear. Even if you change the waterpump you do not have to use the GSR belt!

YOU STILL USE THE LS TIMING BELT!

I feel really stupid for making that post, haha. I need to wake up, thanks for the correction. But yes the gsr water pump does have a bigger gear with more teeth and won't work with an ls timing belt.

Yes the GSR gear has I think one or 2 extra teeth, but you can still use the LS Timing belt b/c the GSR is too long for the LS motor.

I should know I have a GSR waterpump and oil pump on my allmotor LS

No need to go aftermarket on an oil pump even if you're pushin over 600whp

Stick with the OEM.
i used to think the same thing but after seeing a few pumps shater im not so shure the rpm's seem to kill them more than any thing

I would put a ITR oil pump on it and Yes, you can still use the LS Timing belt and timing belt cover....

www.acuraautomotiveparts.org

I paid $120-130 for mine. Make sure you get one for a 97 and up. After 96 or 97 they all used the same oil pump(ITR/GSR).
