in my opinion the best b series motor is the b18c5 motor, its already a beast of a motor with headwork and touch ups from the factory already in place, adding mods to this motor in the right fashion is a step in the right direction for an all motor maniac, now as far as turbocharging a motor that is stock, i would say the b18b for the lower compression and ability to handle a pretty damn good amount of boost with no internal mods and still make good power( i myself have ran 15 psi and the highest i know of is 17psi making 290 hp to the wheels with no problems), now if i was to have my choice of a motor to build completely it would be a b18 vtec motor wheter it be a c or a c5, turbo and vtec plus hondata = lots of power and massive potential to go fast, the higher revving and the ability to make power all the way through the powerband and then some is what i like about vtec and boost, so in a stock motor world,i would choose the ls to turbocharge, but if i could not do forced induction it would definitely be c or c5 because of vtec and compression, b series motor are the best and thats the bottomline..........now price wise is pretty much all the same when it comes to building and turbocharging a motor, pistons and rods around 7-800 bucks, new bearings, gaskets, hondata or some other form of computer, injectors, turbo kits vary largely in price and all the other nick nacs that are involved, i myself have about 4k bucks in motor modifications and thats with a stock motor, you have the turbo kit , complete msd system, injectors, boost controller, apex afc and a few upgraded pieces of the turbo system, its all about what you want (or what you can afford) that is gonna determine how awesome your b series motor is gonna be.........

Oh yeah, just a disclaimer to my above statement. If money were no object I'd say B18C5 all the way. That motor is simply incredible. On a budget though I say B16.

i'm personally a fan of the b18c5. just like ricky said, stock is just a BEAST of a motor. definitely the best n/a engine in the honda b-series.

In stock form I would agree, but not when modded. It takes to minor dodifications a little better then the other Bseries motors, but when full out building the motors I would have to disagree.

yeah i agree with opsi on that vtec is good but when u go to true conitunious high revving engine, u dont need anything else to break like pins fro the actuars to lock the cam lobs to the cam shaft for vtec. just go straight high lobe cams..
