my car has an aluminum foil rattle to it around the same rpm, i think its the heatshield, but i'm not sure. so dont quote me on that. but you might want to check that when you check yer car

I agree with drifter, many times if a heatshield or flange is loose and rattling you'll fine that the sound will resonate through the exhaust piping and to the head. I would check all of your exhaust piping. Possibly while doing the clutch job a bolt was removed and then re-tightened without ehough torque, or no locktite was used. No offense, but that may have temporarily stopped the problem. Scientifically, and this may sound strange, but sound waves that aren't engine generated going through your exhaust piping can reduce horsepower. Check it out.

I have no turbo or downpipe heat sheilds at all, so the only 2 remaining heat sheilds are on my last cat (soon to be gone) on my mid pipe. that are very small and are way down at the bottom of the car. unless my ears are fooling me, i think it might be somethin bad!
