300zx guys
I'm not sure of the reasonas to why the Japs did it, but the USDM engine puts out right at 300hp, as compared to the JDMs 280. From what I understand, the US model has slightly larger turbos and a different cam profile and duration (how long the valves stay open). So yes, you're right when you said they have less boost from the factory. But they also have a slightly different cam profile.

Hmm... I did some checking on that car... and I'm going to have to call BS on that being "your" Z... I spoke with Mike Lee about his Z, which is shown in the photos above... He still owns it, and he still lives in Orange County, CA. All the info is you listed is a direct copy from his "Rides" page on TT.Net...

So unless you have a more current photo... in a local spot... or some other way to substantiate you actually own that Z... stop saying its yours because its rather pathetic, and an insult to the owner.

Ever notice how most japanese supercars are rated at 276hp or 280hp? I read it a long time ago but it has something to do with the japanese government and auto makers having a "getlemans agreement" to keep hp levels to a maximum of 276hp. Didnt know the Z was like that too but Ive always noticed the Skyline was.
And ummm...This should be quite interesting with the Z "owners" situation

Some have disproved the turbo rumor (showing Japanese imported motors have the same turbos as US 5spd manual equipped TTs) but the cams have not been proven/disproven. Its found in literature, but no one has taken the time to check the lift/duration on the two cams to make sure.
And I didn't mean to start a controversy over the photos, but come on fasterzx, I mean if its not your car own up... you could say you'd LIKE IT to maybe be that way one day... like you're aspiring... but don't say its yours... that's just plain sad. =( Its done all the time and its a real shame.
But chidoks, if you ever have any Z questions, hit me up on IM I'd be more than happy to answer your questions... or check out TwinTurbo.Net, specifically the Tech Section. Its a wealth of knowledge.
Oh and fasterzx, you also mentioned the following:

Please don't give advice when you have no idea what you're talking about...
However, your suggestions below:
