It's a 93 GSR. The manual says it's on the transaxle but I can't find it. See, I'm thinking that somehow that pin either isn't there or poped out when I poped the clamp off.

what happened, did you spin a rod?, if so you might have to junk it, im not sure if they can machine it to make it good again, and good luck finding a b17 crank, im not sure if any of the rest of the b series cranks would be compatible with your motor and rods........

I don't know if I spun a rod or not but a mechanic that looked @ it said it needs to be turned or something and gave a list of other things to do as well. Here's what I was told to investigate in the near future;

From the Machine Shop find out;
regrind crankshaft
a. main barrings
b. connecting rods
find out what a set of oversided main barrings and oversized connecting rods and what it costs to bore out cylinders (clean and bore) cost for rebuilding head
Head
a. replace valve guides
b. regrind valve seat surfaces
price to install bushings and wrist pin bushings
price to balance engine

bore to .010 thousandths

Autoparts
complete gasket set for engine
Valves
Valve Springs
hoses
.010 oversized pistons and rings
set of connecting rod wrist pin bushings
hoses

check for cam barrings, if so get price on them to

None of that makes much sense to me but thats an idea of what I'm looking into. Any help is always appreciated!

What would be a good swap engine in this and how easy would it go?

The machine shop said you need to replacae your cam bearings? It's time to move on to another machine shop. Honda motors don't use cam bearings. Also, you will not find .010 over piston sets for your motor either. .020 over is pretty much the standard. How much is this shop trying to chanrge you for all of this work?

between costs of materials and machine shop labor / assembly i would think it would be a little more logical/affordable to get a used b17, throw all new gaskets on it and new piston rings and call it a day. thats just me though

It would be cheaper to pick up a b18c1 long block in my opinion!
