Beggers can't be choosers man. It's a simple job, and aside from the alignment you will need after it is replaced it's a 10-15minute job. Depending on the setup you may even be able to replace it with the car on the ground and if you are careful can even install it so that you might not need an alignment.

that is a retarded fucking statement. You my friend may let random people fuck with your ride but I don't want some clown who thinks they can do it work on it to save money. I hate paying shops prices because I know list price and jobber price and flag hours. Me myself do not had the tools or know how on this particular problem.

I know it can be simple, problem is I do not know which one it is yet (inner-outer). I have no jack, I am in the process of moving this week so I haven't had time to deal with it. I am looking for someone with real mechanical skills (i.e. a mechanic) who may want to do a small side job. Simple question, simple answer by someone who can perform the job. If I don't find anyone so be it. I would rather attempt that shit myself and possibly fuck it up rather than pay some one who thinks they can, fucks it up then I am out the money I paid them pkus damages.

BTW dorko, this is not directed at you. I just simply want to know if anyone could vouch. If it offends anyone, well too bad. Better safe than sorry.

I would imagine you could do it with the oem scissor jack and a really basic socket set. I'd give it a shot. Thats if its the outer..

What all is involved? Pulling the cotter pin, taking the lock nut off then popping the joint side out of the knuckle? Would I need a fork to pop it out?

Leave the top nut on and bang the arm (not the tie-rod end) with a hammer a few times to shock it loose.

Wow, that was ignorant. You are asking for a stranger instead of a shop to work on your car, obviously you don't really care who is under your car. If you did you would never let anyone work on your car. And I'm not the pot calling the kettle either, as I've never once in my life taken anything I own to a shop to be worked on, ever.

And all I did was state a single "old wise man saying" and then offer some advice on the difficulty of the job.

then you have to break the jam nut loose, with prolly a 19-22mm wrench, twist it off, put the new part on. tighten the jam nut, put it back in the hub, and get an alignment.

its fairly easy if you are mechanically inclined.
