I just want to stress Terry's point of whatever painting that will be done, better not be good, or great. It has to be fucking perfect.

FUCKING.

PERFECTION.

that is all.

thank you, i am a good painter and i think i do great work especially since im basically self trained except for my homey jody teahing me the basics in his garage, now that i get to spray in a really nice booth working at stock or modified in a limited dust environment alot of my work comes out perfect and i can spray an array of different types of paint jobs...but id also like to thank nate for advice hes given me in the past, and i have no shame in saying nate and the guys at dreamworks are alot better than i am and are awesome painters and are people i would let paint my own stuff if needed. Nate, the guys over at dreamworks and one of the local guys Joey from ultraspeed are among the top painters in the area and they know whats up. im sure there are other really good painters in the area, but ive seen these 3's work up close and its fantastic.

on a side note: if you bring it to me, i guarantee it will come back perfect. only question is a perfect match, like nate says with pearl coats is definitely a task getting it to match pefect, the basecoat is usually not a problem getting it to look at least 99% the same, that pearl coat throws that little craziness into the mix.

Color matching Pearl Coat's like what's on your car can be a tad tricky. The color shade varies due to the painter. The top coat causes the shade variances. The more you put on, the more of an effect you're going to get out of it, which also causes the color to look deeper or even give it a dramatic color change all together. House of Kolor's kind of sucks for this reason. If you wreck it, it's hard as shit to match it again perfectly (even though your problem is just a mirror) Basically any Tri-stage paint is the same. Many spray out panels are needed to get the shade to a match. One panel....maybe spray 2 coats of the top coat, next 3 coats,, next 4.....and so on till the color is achieved. A lot of painters don't spray the same. They use different air pressure, different air temps, differnt overlaps....all which cause color variances. Just dropping a mirror off to a shop and giving them the paint to spray it with isnt a great idea. Drop the whole car off...tell them to spray out some test panels to get the match. Without seeing what they are working with, there's not way to achieve an accurate match. ( a good shop or person would take these steps)

Unfortuantly I'm located on Peninsula or I'd help you out a bit
Yeah I was afraid of that
I guess I have to take my chances and if I can get it 99% perfect on the matching side I would be happy

I feel your pain my friend. I have been talking to the guys fixing my C6 Z06 right now. I told them you guys have no idea how fricken' anal I am when it comes to my car. OK, maybe not Brock or Brian anal.....but pretty damn close. They assure me they have an excellent painter that is finishing up a $300,000 custom race GT3. We'll see. GL on your repairs.

Here are some pix of the damage.
The drivers mirror had a few coats of candy and clear lift when they tried to re apply the bra

again more paint lifting here but this is more extreme.

and this is the front bumper, the film is still on it but they fuckin scratched it so the film has to be removed...BUT that may lift the paint. So I have to decide to live with that scratch on the film or remove it and risk paint damage...then repainting

I fukin regret I did this
