You're wrong man, it's smaller, cheaper, and lighter than the 3er but has the same engine options (3.0 or 3.0 turbo). Just because it's not the prettiest car in the world shouldn't necessarily damn it to eternally be crap, think of it like a 3er that traded in some of it's style for better performance.

I'm sure it has more to do with the weight than anything. He'll still bitch and gripe about the quality of the car, but I have the feeling when he drives a Z/28 he'll be much happier with the performance.

Meh, its all opinion......but the car itself isn't a pile. The interior dimensions are nearly identical to the E36. I don't mind the looks of it, speaking of just the 135's. They are definitely a blast to drive.

That makes sense.

I didn't get to finish watching it yesterday so I will today. Good reviews gets me all warm and fuzzy inside.

lol better performance at a better price is fact, not opinion. If you're looking at the 1er or 3er in terms of performance for price the 1er is miles in the lead, they just need to give it a facelift.

Lol at the people watching Top Gear for mainstream reviews. They will take the uber super car you like and make it look like dog doodoo then crown a $1000 Range Rover the best 4x4 in the world. Somewhere in between my face starts hurting from laughing.

+rep for this. Watching it when I get home.

I actually like how it looks, but it's too heavy for its size and it handles poorly, despite the ballast they put in the rear to try to undo the understeer.
