And I'm sure they feel just like a $600k 250mph car will. Like a junky kit car made out of parts bin parts.

Bugatti is quality. Some cheap no name kit car manufacture builds just that. Its all in what you want.

There have been many, many, many people who have set out to make cars like this. Doesn't really matter how similar they are (or aren't) but the fact is that most of them go under very fast. It takes a HUGE amount of money to make a car that costs over $100k, because you have to make a few prototype mules, buy lots of tooling, pay lots of people, buy materials/parts/engines, and ship the mules all over the place for testing/marketing/press. One of the huge problems is that to build a car at that level, you need to spend a lot of money to have it designed properly. No one wants to spend a lot of money on a carbon chassis car that handles like crap and isn't stable at speed because of the aero or the vehicle dynamics.

Cars do succeed sometimes, but for every car that makes it to even limited production, there are many, many others that fold and never make a ripple in the mainstream media. The automotive industry is littered with these stories.

Do I hope they succeed? Sure. Do I think they will? Nope.
