My New Time Attack Car Build Thread
Its amazing what you can pull off if you have a full time job and put your mind to doing something. It's crazy how many people just say they'll do things rather then actually commit to something and follow through.
600 for a complete LS1 minus intake manifold is basically the deal of the century compared to what is out there on the market right now. People are selling complete long blocks for double that.
Not too sure on specifics. Everything was torn apart and inspected when he got the motor. Miles, however, are unknown. Everything seems to be in good shape (compression/leak down tests, etc.). Guy had his project shell sold without his knowledge (by his father, was stored on his land) so now he wants to get rid of the motor.
I will let him know.
I only asked because he has it sitting around and wants to get rid of it and I offered to try to help. This is a friend of mine, btw.
He has zero free time. He is also fairly good at not spending money on stupid shit....I'm better at him then that (I don't make as much money so I have to be), haha.

Haha not really but I do OK. I'm a mechanical design engineer for RG Engineering Inc. I am pretty much always doing something. I don't spend much time relaxing.
Bought a 99 Firebird yesterday with 130K on it. I will be picking it up next week sometime. I get some pictures of it asap. So step 1 is complete. I just need to replace the oil pump with a higher volume unit (LS4 I guess) and the rod bolts as suggested by cobra4b. The engine doesn't seem to have any leaks and I will probably only replace the gaskets that I remove when changing parts.
