Tell you what... I can almost say for certain that if we did a no shit test. and put the 4 (GSXR 600, CBR 600RR, R6, and ZX6R) bikes side by side at 40 mph in 6th gear and then had everybody roll on the throttle. The R6 would come out in front in the beginning. The R6's gearing is way way low. I have the 03-05 model and my low end is great on that bike. I would really like to get all this bikes together and do some little tests like this. Would make things interesting. Settle some disputes too.

This would be really interesting, the data I was referencing was 1/4 miles speed times/ tourque curve charts and horsepower, roll on tests and rider reviews.

 

is it the carbd or FI r6?...

i have a 05 r6 and my low isnt all that great but doesnt have a problem picking up like they are saying..


these have t be stock bikes... no gearing.

 

I have the 06 R6s. Which is the same model as the 03-05 R6... it is the first FI model. I do not have any gears but I do have a K&N, slip on, and power commander. I only recently got the power commander .. so all of my previous runs were on the stock bike.

 

yea... I know that I have been on a few different bikes. Including a CBR 600RR, ZX6R, and R6. I have never been on the back of a GSXR 600... but I have run a bunch. There is one thing that I do know for certain. Everybody that gets on my bike say "Damn, that bitch comes up easy!" Even guys on R1's say that it is easier to pick up my front tire than it is theirs.

I am not positive but I am pretty sure that the R6 comes with one of the biggest stock rear sprockets on a SS. 48T sprocket.

From the looks of it.. and I know that the front sprocket has something to do with it as well...

05 R6.............- 16T front / 48T rear sprocket
05 GSXR 600...- 16T front / 45T rear sprocket
05 ZX6R..........- 15T front / 43T rear sprocket
05 CBR 600RR..- 16T front / 42T rear sprocket
