what is your riding experience? what do you currently ride, do you have a motorcycle liscense? they usually have shootouts of the competition in motorcycle magazines, and theres tons of vids on youtube to help you decide which bike is best. also, check with your local motorcycle dealer to check labor rates and ask which models have required more servicing.

go to the dealer and look at them, it's all about what you like, you no doubt dont have the skill to ride either faster, smoother,or turn better than the other, judging from your first post. in the other hand GSXR parts are easier to find for when you lay it down so I'd advise the gsxr

If you have not gone and sat on a few bikes... I would not break it down to only 2 bikes. I would look at all the bikes.
I can tell you this. I have a Yamaha R6 and a Kawasaki ZX6RR and the way they both feel is completely different. They are both comfortable their own way.
The R6 is a much much much smoother ride than the ZX6, along with the foot placement is much more natural on the R6 than the ZX6. I would suggest that you go sit on a few and then make your decision.

there is no such things as a dumb question, just a bunch of inquisitive idiots.
lol jk. but really
dude just check them out, whichever one you like better is the one thats best. Not putting you down, but you'll most likely never develop the skills to drive one better than the other

Figure out which one appeals to you more. Sit on them and try em out for size. After researching and checking them out and you still can't make up your mind, call your insurance companies and see which one is more affordable to insure. If you're not going to be racing at the track, you'll have a hard time using all the bike's juice (safely, at least). Meaning they'll seem very similar performance wise.
