If you aren't considering anything else, including a much more frugal solution, then get the edge and be done with it. It will do whatever you want and has the stuff you want and will tow that loaf of bread on wheels.

Definately the Edge in my opinion. Sharpest looking cross-over out there. If I was to buy an SUV that is what I would buy. I have read reviews on the Edge about how reliable and well built they are.

The FJ is different in good way, but it's not something I would be able to drive daily.

I mean... that's a thought, but not something I really want to do. My current daily driver is an 18 year old Civic with 230,000 miles and no air conditioning. I figured because the Mach1 is nearly paid off, I'd get something new to replace the CRX and have the ability to seat four adults comfortably and pull a trailer. During summer months, I'll probably be pulling the trailer up to twice a week.

I definitely see the resemblance in the wheels, too! The front bumper is the main thing I don't like about it. The color and wheels are sharp though.

Exactly.

Really? That's pretty impressive, but it isn't a truck's gas mileage alone that turns me off to them. Their overall size is just to much for what I'd want to deal with.

I could definitely swing $32K. I'd ideally like to be <$30K, but you know the saying... wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up quicker. I could also easily be persuaded into buying something that's been gently used. Especially a MKX.

Loaf of bread? LOL? I guess I don't get it.

Well that's good to hear. I like the FJ too, but I'm starting to think the Edge is going to just be a much more practical choice. I'm not ruling anything out until I've driven both though.

What would an eighteen foot boat weigh approximately? I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to boats...
