EXTREMELY WEIRD PROBLEM!?!
you need to check the switch in front of your brake pedal that actually sends the power to the lights when you depress the pedal. these switches are known to go bad every once in a while. if it has gone bad, then it will either send power all the time like your problem, or the lights wont go on at all.

yo there is a piece in the brake pedal that catches the brake switch and most likely it has dry rotted and fekll out so if you look at the end of the brake pedal where the brake switch is there will be a small hole you have to block that hole off and the brake light will work properly again
thanks for the advice. it is too dark to check it now, but i intend to do it in the morning. i will post the results. But i am also interested in why the harnesses look the way they do..on my car and the one at the junkyard. Kinda weird both cars looked the same..
(which has been replaced, i know)
