Or, just don't drive like an idiot and you can save the money you'd spend on the detector and the fines that will eventually follow.

IIRC, the deadline for prepaid tickets is 4pm the day before your court date. If you wait until the day of, your name is already on the docket.

That worked for me with a Washington State license.
