Honestly, I wouldn't skimp on a helmet...after all it is your noggin in there.
But, spend how much you think you're worth.

cycle world on va beach blvd has some snell and dot approved hjc helmets for around $137

just got my helmetcity helmet 70 bucks shipped im suprised at how nice it is for the money got the snell approval i need for autocrossing can;t wait till sunday.

i just ordered mine for next season from ogracing.com....it even came with a free helmet bag(not the shitty ones that they all come with)...anyway it was $311 for the "bell X-15 SA2005 helmet" ...everywhere else was 400 bucks but they overstocked and have em' on sale

I just plan on using my HJC cycle helmet.

I asked Summit Point and they said it's fine for their "Friday at the Track" events and any other trackday they hold themselves.
