And in addition to your original fine, you'll have some more to continue paying your debt to society.
You are right it is not EXACTLY the same but it is similar. It is still unethical to do so. I believe in our country. I believe in the will and rights of the people. All we need is to put people in office that believe in the same things I do and our founding fathers did.

No but you did illustrate a point for me. Mistakes are made and accidents do happen. Would you like it if you could be fined for misspelling a word? It happens to the best of us. Just as you say, just don't speed and don't break these ludicrous laws and you will have nothing to worry about; if you take the time to check your spelling really quick before you post, you won't look like a jack ass.

I'm trying to get some statistics from you but you won't tell me. I can guarantee we take a poll of this board to see who's gotten a ticket for failure to signal and the results could be counted on one hand.

I don't have numbers in front of me, but from the 10 years I've been driving, the many people I know that drive and have been driving longer than that, the times I've been to court and seen the documents with charges on them, I've never heard/seen anyone getting a ticket for this.

Right, because traffic laws and spelling on a public forum are the same thing. If you need to see a jackass, just look in the mirror cause apparently you're seeing things.

This is another problem though. You should not just accept things the way they are presented to you. Just because you don't think that anyone has ever gotten ticketed with it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. The other thing that I gather from these new fines is that they will start issuing tickets for this. I get this idea because they took the time to put it on the bill. Since the point of these new fines is to simply make money, I believe they look at this as an easy way to make it. These new fines are not to detour to people from braking the law, they are looking to make money off of people for simple errors. I don't know a single person who drive perfect, I don't. I drive really well and am constantly keeping my eyes open and not on the phone or the set of tits in the passenger seat.

Challenge the law makers. We do have control over our laws if we care enough to fight over it. When you get a ticket for one of the more stupid things on the list, get a lawyer and sue the state. Do the same when you get your bill for points on your license. If enough people don't take this lying down, the new fines will be removed or changed to something logical.

Kids...

Remember driving is a priviledge not a right. If VA wants to tack on additional fines then you have a few choices

1. STFU and deal
2. Make sure you're not breaking traffic laws
3. Please feel free to vote next time and change the people in office

It amuses me that people bitch about the laws that VA puts in place without realizing the simple fact that you (as long as you're older then 18...if not STFU, you shouldn't be driving anyway)have the ability to change things when you vote

You forgot #4, if it wrong and/or unconstitutional fight it.

But I agree with everything after #1

Show us where it says otherwise. When you turn 16, they do not automatically give you a DL, you have to earn it.

You get too many tickets, they take it. Something that is a "right" cannot be taken from you.

Why do you think we are required to have licenses? Well besides it is another way for the government take money from you. Since the license takes no skill or ability to get.

It is a privilege, the roads are public. For the benefit of public safety we have to be able to remove dangerous drivers from the road. The same reason we have prisons.
