92 FZR I'm assuming we can't just use car oil so whats a good oil to use for an older bike? Thanks for the help.

 

probably any 10 40 motorcycle grade oil....

 

i have been using Mobil 1 15w50 from day one. 21K miles later - still no problem. Been buying it at advanced auto.

 

I have started using Royal Purple motorcycle oil..
will let you know how that goes later

+ 1. I use Shell Rotella T full syn but mine's an 04 and it's been using full syn since day 1.

 

ya I heard your not suppose to switch from regular to synthetic, but I dunno how true that is.

 

I bought Penzoil motorcycle oil 20w40 the other day. As long as it is rated for motorcycles. DO not use car oil!

Thanks for the link, and thats for the help from the rest of you. Now can any one tell me how difficult it is to swap a starter? I heard its a pain in the ass on harley's... but this isn't a harley... so... I'm assuming its very similar on sport bikes, so if one of you guys could give me an over view I would appreciate it.
