Need a lift!
My car has been on the same jackstands for the last week while I've been installing my turbo. As long as it's a flat, level, solid surface(concrete preferred), then the risks of anything happening are next to none. Unless of course you're using jackstands not rated for the car you have them underneath.
Okay, guys... I'm not saying jack stands are evil or should never be used. I just feel more comfortable, personally, working underneath something a bit more solid... Maybe it's the confidence of feeling like a lift is more solid and stable? I don't know... I just feel safer that way. I would never want to install new downpipes on an S4 with it on jackstands.. That's for damn sure!
I've used jackstands. I just don't feel all too safe with them.
