This is correct it must be fixed to the front of your vehicle, no only is having the plate on your dash illegal but it is also unsafe. Anything that is up there and you get into a accident becomes a projectile that can seriously cause damage to you or any passengers in your vehicle.

I just don't have my front plate on at all. It is sitting securely under my passenger seat. It has been 1 year and I have not gotten a ticket for it (Knock on wood).

i havent mounted my front plate in like 4 years, with the same results,BUT, i have had a few cops mention things in traffic...

a cop told me that you shouldn't put it in your window because since its not fastened down it could take your head off in a crash. he wasn't an asshole cop he was a friend of mine.

i had a JDM plate in front and my va plate in back
