You are an idiot and everybody that agreed with this is an idiot. Just cause a cop is off duty doesn't mean he can't write tickets or arrest people. When you take the oath to uphold the law it doesn't go away when you punch out. As far as the other guy not being there, what about when the cops arrest people for murders? They weren't standing there when the guy did it, so how do they arrest them? It's a little thing that we in law enforcement like to call evidence and tack on a few witnesses and you've got yourself a case.

actually if you get a ticket while 17, it doesnt matter if the court date makes you 18. i got a wreckless 3 weeks before my 18th, and i was 18 and 3 months when i went to juvy court.
