How many Pintos would have sold?
Yes! and Dodge for their shitty seat belts, and Toyota for their unsafe front seats, and Mistu for their Roll over prone Montero's, etc. etc. etc. That's the point. Every one of them has put out a dangerous car. Some of you are just too naive to realize that the others knew they were dangerous before production also.

Just one search for Auto Coverups led me to this..

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp...nguage=printer

Mitsubishi covering up defects with brake systems and steering columns.. 6 executives arrested.

Also I believe I remembering watching something back a while. That the problem with the explorers.. Was a combination of the angle of the suspension and the strength of the tires.... The angle of the suspension put to much stress on the firestones causing them to blow. However other tires did not.. So i dont really know who to blame here as the tires were not really a problem on any other car... just a bad freak combination..

Another thing.. The ford freestyle AND the Chrysler pacifica and the leading vehicles for rollover.. 13% chance of rollover.. so ford isnt the only company putting out unsafe vehicles...

We are not naive. We are waiting for someone to give an example of a company (auto manufacturer) with business practices more unscroupulous than Ford's.

I guess I'll have to edit my post for Tim. We all know the alcohol and tobacco companies are terrible.

Right, but do you hope that all the employees of Kraft foods die in a fire?

This was your answer to why you hate Ford but not alcohol and tobacco companies, but now you say everyone knows that they are bad. So which is it?
