Anybody wanna see a ship sink?
Ford is going down! Woohoooo!
http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/...hur-usat_x.htm
I'm hoping it won't be long now until one of the most unscrupulous companies of our time is history. I guess what goes around DOES come around. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
If you work for FoMoCo I'd suggest you jump ship now before it's too late. That way when they go down it won't shock the economy quite so badly. What's the point in staying now, anyway? Looks like you won't have benifits for much longer:
Maybe you could try your hand at GM? You'll feel better working for a company with morals and a future anyway.
My hope is that they sell Premier Automotive Group to someone who can turn things around. Maybe Renault? That'd be sweet. PAG has some NICE cars. It's just too bad they're (currently) controlled by Ford. After PAG is free I could give two shits what hapens to the rest of them.
Ford has ten years tops. Once the economy bounces back nobody will even miss them. Once again, if you work on the sinking ship, JUMP! It'll make things easier on you, and everyone else, in the long run.

The F-Series was the only Ford among the 10 best-sellers last month. GM had four vehicles in the top 10: Chevrolet and GMC full-size pickups and Chevy Impala and Cobalt sedans.

Re: Anybody wanna see a ship sink?
Ford is awesome, they let they're customers know of all recalls. Not like other import companies that got sued for hiding recalls.
I doubt "unscrupulous" was the best word to use, lol.
Ford will come out on top. And wasn't there a big dispute about Ford actually selling more than Chevy and they tried to get Chevy to stop using it in their commercials?

ATTORNEY: In 1989, sir, was it Ford's goal, as far as you knew, to pass the Consumers Union test- that is, to go through the course without experiencing wheel lift?
ROGER SIMPSON, Ford Explorer Project Manager: Ford's goal was to subject the UN-46 prototypes to that test procedure to determine what effect it might have on a new product that we were about to put into the marketplace, so that if and when Consumer Reports were to repeat that test on a production vehicle subsequent to Job 1, we wouldn't have any surprises. 1st ATTORNEY: Would you agree with me that widening the UN-46 two inches would have made it less likely to roll over?
ROGER SIMPSON: Generally, that is a directional improvement to vehicle stability. That's correct.
ATTORNEY: A directional improvement. Does that mean it makes it more safe and more stable?
SIMPSON'S ATTORNEY: Object to the form of the question.
ROGER SIMPSON: It means that it goes in that direction. Yes, sir. How much it would improve it, I do not know.
ATTORNEY: One of the reasons it was unacceptable to widen the track two inches was because of the $500 million-plus investment that Ford had sunk into the Explorer by this time and the need to get a return on that investment?
ROGER SIMPSON: That was one of the reasons.
ATTORNEY: Yes.
TAB TURNER, Plaintiff Attorney: They came to a fork in the road. "Do we fix this vehicle and take the time to do it right and save people's lives, or do we go in this direction and cosmetically fix the vehicle, but having full knowledge of the risk that it's going to place the consumer in?" And they chose to cosmetically fix the vehicle instead of really fixing the vehicle.

In order to have vehicles released by "Job 1" (their code name for projected release dates, which is kind of funny since one of their slogans used to be "Quality is Job 1.") they cut corners that they knew would kill at least some of their customers. They figured it would be cheaper to pay off their families than to make their vehicles safe. Despite being wrong every time they make this assumption, they continue to do it.

Suzuki - Remember the outcry when the Samurai's would roll over
GM - Any one remember the lawsuits about the saddle type gas tanks
You're only picking on Ford when I could look up the same shit about any car manufacturer
Go grind your ax somewhere else

And I understand the temporary negaitve effects on the economy, but those are coming whether Ford goes down or they get help. We need to prepare for it now so it won't have as bad an impact when they die out.
