for example:
if it start at 1903433, then it from 96-97
if it start from 2034234, then it is 98 up spec.
basically, the first 2 numbers are to determine the year made.
On the tranny:
J4D = 4.4 ITR final drive (JDM 96 spec/USDM all)
N3E = 4.7 ITR final drive (JDM 98 spec)
If i had a shell, this would be gone. Good price!

I would agree. You can tell by the stamp and the vin
for example:
if it start at 1903433, then it from 96-97
if it start from 2034234, then it is 98 up spec.
